This weekend on May 18, Drift Masters European Championship will kick off their season in Greinbach, Austria. Driftzone will be there to take the pulse on the drivers and see firsthand on the season opener.
Well Henrik, Christer and Björn will travel to Greinbach in Austria for the first round of DMEC, the competition starts on Saturday May 18 and will be done by Sunday evening May 19. It will be a really good way to see all the drivers and an oppertunity for us to see who is looking strong for this season in DMEC.
We have one driver from Sweden, Christian Erlandsson in his sweet Subaru BRZ. We are hoping to see Christian high up in the results, how it goes – well that is something we have to wait and see.
Another driver that is well known in Sweden is Pawel Korpulinski, he is competing for Polen but has been racing in Sweden for quite some time now. So we are hoping for good results for him also.
Other things worth mention is the new beast for James “The Machine” Deane, he will compete in a BMW HGK Eurofighter this year, with a powerful 2jz. Will he dominate this season? Or will someone elso step up?
Greinbach and the track PS Racing Centre is the center this weekend, the track is tight and somewhat like Greenvalley (in Eskilstuna) but it has some features that are interesting. First off the drivers come up to a massive lefthander wich require drifting for a long section, from there they have to really get the line good, because the next turn is a tight and narrow lefthander that connects to a 180 degree right turn, then in to a chikane and in to another left and right kombo of turns and out to the final left corner across the finish line.
This track looks really technical and it will be awesome to see it in real life, we are sure that all the drivers are eager to do battle and to get the season going, so be sure to either come to PS Racing Center or tune in to their livestream.
